"At one point, according to Lagerfeld, Kahn set up a movie camera on a Paris street corner, and every day for ten years filmed people walking by. 'You see the houses, you see the cars--and there were few changes in ten years,' says Lagerfeld, who has viewed the footage. 'The cars changed not that much. The architecture changed not at all. But the attitude of the people changed much more, in the way they walked, in the way they dressed. So don't tell me fashion is not important."

Oh I live in atlanta! I would just love to know what you thought of the shopping
Hi Heather. I didn't have too much time for shopping...just one day. I liked the thrift stores in Little Five Points, especially Rag-O-Rama. I found a men's Burberry dress shirt in a wonderful pattern for only $5 and a vintage brocade pill box hat that almost looked like a turban. In Northern Georgia I bought a very old eggplant colored slip. I liked the shopping mall in Atlanta very much (the high end one), but it had a small selection in the Barney's and Jeffery...and the sales people were very rude, much snobbier than in New York. Instead, I went across the street to the Filene's basement and found some wonderful things. My favorite was a beautiful lace bra from Barney's that was originally $140 for $6. I think since the city is smaller than New York, a lot of good merchandise tends not to get picked up as quickly, so it is nice if you have a good eye. What are your favorite places to shop in Atlanta? I wish I could have asked you before my trip. Oh well, there is always next time.
I know how you feel! :)
Look forward to your posts.
